The multitude gathered as they chanted the call of a name...
And from a distance I could see the image of this, this ahhh, greatness. In
the right hand a pencil, freshly sharpened and...
Yeah right. Former Constable Roy Denton must be crazy or going there. But
what the heck, it all sure was interesting. The 1998 elections for example,
in fact for prime example. When was the last time you seen a sheriff
election as interesting as the one you had in 1998? Positions were taken
and a massive political fight begun. All contenders were worthy of their
attempt for the office of sheriff in their own way. Win or loose, who else
can say they ran for sheriff in 1998? How many of you reading this right
now can say that?
The unique aspect to this whole thing is that although a heated Primary and
General Election ensued, never was there a display of violence. No tires got
cut, no windows broken, just four people who wanted the same thing. And
only one of them could have it.
In any event, that was well over a decade ago. It will be interesting to sit
back and see what happens on this upcoming sheriff election in 2010. No
matter what happens one thing seems to be certain. It isn't in the best
interest of the county to step back into the Sneed days nor do we need to
mark time with the one we have now.
One thing for sure, the haters only hate those that are "real". Anonymous
chickens will never count, can never count and no matter how bad the
criticize, they will never be elected to anything. They choose to hide. They
choose to "hate". They hide and hate because they haven't the spine to
stand up and proclaim anything as their own person. So, if the shameful
amonymous cowards cannot be themselves, then who are they????
Who "could" say it and who can say it now
