Have you ever really tried to understand someone's behavior and
make sense of how a particular person or even a group of people is
behaving towards you in a particular way? Have you ever been the
odd person out, maybe just different to just enough of a degree
that you "stand out" instead of "fit in"? Have you ever felt
frustrated because you want someone to just give you a chance, get
to know you, give you enough of a chance that you are sure once you
are seen for the person you are and what you stand for that you will
be "accepted" for who and what you are? But, for some reason, that
chance never comes and you are discriminated against, or even
ostracized because you don't agree, or your opinion is different, or
maybe you just want change because the way things are being done
is benefiting only a few select people and the way they are getting
what they want is by not being on the "up and up". Have you ever
stood up for someone and stated their case for them when they
were too afraid to speak for themselves only to be the one bullied
in return while the person you defended remains in hiding? Has
someone ever given you a dirty little secret that could get others in
trouble but this person wants you to tell the whole world, but just
don't tell the world where you got the information from and then
when you do, the world comes down on you, not the person that
came to you with the information in the first place? Have you ever
been the victim of a crime and asked your police to help you and
been refused? Have you ever been misled into believing you were
about to receive help from the police but then things are turned on
you and to your own shock and amazement you are being threatened
with being locked up? Have you ever gone 'through the chain of
command' to try and receive help only to be shunned, made fun of,
and threatened, even called a liar? Have you ever gone to your city
council and mayor and told them your humiliating experience of
being threatened with jail for just speaking your mind to a
policeman and they simply look at you with empty eyes and hear you
with deaf ears? Have you ever felt truly violated in your own home
and shunned in your own home town to the point to where you feel
you must leave or something horrible is going to happen to you?
